Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The department provides a well-equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) which is manned round-the-clock by our experienced specialists and highly trained nurses, for the treatment of the critically Babies.

Neonatology is a special branch that deals with critically ill infants and preterm babies. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or commonly known as the NICU plays a crucial role in it. NICU is a specially built chamber where critically ill babies are kept.

The NICU comprises of high-end equipment to regulate the temperature and oxygen level as per the need of the babies, along with many other life support apparatuses.

NICU Care levels

Level 1 Care

For neonates that weigh over 1800 grams with a gestational maturity of 34 or more weeks

Level 2 Care

For neonates that weigh less than 1800 grams, but more than 1200 grams, with a gestational maturity between 30 and 34 weeks.

Level 3 Care

For neonates that weigh less than 1200 grams with a gestational maturity of less than 30 weeks.
